Alleppey House Boat

OUR STORY

Born on this water, built for it.

The kettuvallam came first — long before the tourists. For centuries these hulls carried rice and spice through Kuttanad, stitched plank to plank with coir rope and not a single nail. When the cargo moved to roads, the boats could have died. Instead, the backwaters taught them a second trade: carrying people slowly.

We run that trade at its highest pitch. A fleet of one-to-sixteen stateroom vessels — jacuzzis on the water, chefs at the market by dawn, crews born in the villages the routes pass — under one rule that never bends: the whole boat is yours. One party, every sailing, always.

The company

A houseboat brand with a travel house behind it.

Alleppey House Boat is a subsidiary of World Leisure And Travel Services — which means the fleet sails with a full travel operation behind it: transfers from Kochi, onward itineraries through Munnar and Thekkady, and one desk answerable for all of it. You book a boat; you inherit a company.

The wake we keep

The water feeds the villages that feed our galleys.

Our chefs buy from the fishermen along the route, our crews come from the villages the canals pass, and nothing single-use goes over the rail. The backwaters are a working place, not a set — we cruise them as guests, and we intend to be invited back.

The rest of the story is told on the water.
